USE OF A RENTAL CAR IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

There are rental car services near Nakatsugawa Station (but none near Sakashita Station).

CLOSEST BUS STOPS

Hakusan-cho (8 min on foot) on the Sakashita-Kashimo Line

Tsubakizawa-bashi (11 min on foot) on the Yumori Koen Line.

Both run to/from Sakashita train station and are operated by Kita Ena Transportation. The number of buses are limited so please check the time schedule beforehand. (You may find the information on google maps.)

Closest local railway station - Sakashita on JR Chuo Line. *IC cards cannot be used. Paper tickets only. (10 min by car)

Closest major railway station - Nakatsugawa on JR Chuo Line (25 min by car)

Closest local airport - Nagoya Airport, also known as Komaki Airport (1.5 hours by car)

Closest international airport - Chubu Centrair International Airport (2 hours by car)

From Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka Station - Take the Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train to Nagoya Station, then follow directions below from Nagoya Station. 3 hours from Kyoto by car. (From year 2027, a Chuo Shinkansen maglev line from Tokyo to Nakatsugawa will only take 58 minutes)

From Nagoya Centrair International Airport -Rent a car at the airport (2 hours by car). By train - take the Meitetsu Line from Chubu International Airport Station to Kanayama Station. Transfer to the JR Chuo Line and get off at Nakatsugawa or Sakashita.

From Nagoya Airport (Komaki Airport) - Rent a car at the airport (1.5 hours by car). By bus + train - take the limousine bus to Kachigawa, transfer to JR Chuo Line and get off at Nakatsugawa or Sakashita.

From Nagoya Station - Take the JR Chuo Line to Nakatsugawa or Sakashita station (From 2027, Chuo Shinkansen maglev line from Nagoya to Nakatsugawa will only take 13 minutes)
